2.Product Overview
PTMEG (Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol) is a high-end linear aliphatic polyether polyol polymerized from tetrahydrofuran (THF). Compared with conventional propylene oxide and ethylene oxide-based polyethers, PTMEG features regular linear molecular structure, extremely low crystallinity, excellent hydrolytic stability, superior elasticity and mechanical strength. It is the core raw material for manufacturing high-performance polyurethane elastomers, spandex fibers, and high-grade CASE products. Finished PU materials based on PTMEG deliver outstanding wear resistance, low-temperature flexibility, rebound resilience and anti-aging performance, widely recognized as the premium polyether raw material for high-end PU industries.

4.Physical & Chemical Properties
Physical Properties
PTMEG is a uniform viscous liquid at room temperature with ultra-low color number and high purity. It features regular linear molecular arrangement, moderate viscosity and excellent fluidity. The product presents great compatibility with isocyanates, conventional organic solvents and various PU additives. With low impurity content and stable physical state, it avoids crystallization and stratification during formulation, ensuring consistent processing performance for continuous industrial production.
Chemical Properties
PTMEG contains highly active and evenly distributed terminal hydroxyl groups, which can undergo stable and controllable polycondensation reaction with isocyanate (-NCO). Benefiting from its straight-chain polyether structure without branched chains, it achieves higher cross-linking uniformity after curing. The material possesses outstanding hydrolytic stability, excellent chemical inertness and anti-oxidation performance. Finished PU products exhibit superior low-temperature toughness, abrasion resistance and long-term structural stability, far exceeding ordinary polyether-based PU materials.
