DPMA (Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether Acetate) is a high-performance environmental-friendly glycol ether ester solvent, widely recognized in coatings, inks and fine chemical industries. Featuring low odor, ultra-slow evaporation rate, powerful solvency, excellent resin compatibility and surface leveling performance, DPMA effectively dissolves acrylic, epoxy, alkyd, polyester and various synthetic resins. It optimizes film forming fluidity, eliminates orange peel, pinholes and shrinkage defects, and improves coating gloss and flatness. With low toxicity and stable chemical properties, it is an ideal high-boiling co-solvent and leveling agent for high-end water-based and solvent-based coating systems.

Physical Properties

DPMA is a colorless transparent low-viscosity liquid at room temperature with mild odor and excellent fluidity. It features ultra-high boiling point and extremely slow evaporation speed, effectively extending the film-forming open time of coatings. The product has excellent amphiphilic solubility, miscible with water, alcohols, esters, ketones and most organic solvents. It presents stable physical state without volatilization loss or stratification during construction, providing sufficient leveling time for high-gloss coating and thick-film coating processes.

Chemical Properties

DPMA has stable ether-ester composite molecular structure with excellent chemical inertness and thermal stability. It does not react with resin monomers, pigments, additives and curing agents, ensuring formula system stability. With weak surface tension and good wettability, it can fully wet pigment and filler particles to improve dispersion uniformity. It will not decompose or yellow during high-temperature baking and long-term use, effectively improving the weather resistance and flatness of finished coating films, suitable for high-standard industrial coating production.
